We are seeking a post-doctoral fellow to work with Viral Vectored Vaccine research team led by Dr. Suresh Tikoo. Dr. Tikoos research is focused on understanding African Swine fever virus including viral protein structure, immune responses, and antiviral drug development. The PDF will be responsible for designing and performing laboratory experimental activities, accurately recording procedures used and data generated. The person should be detail orientated and must be a team player.
Qualifications:
The candidate must hold a Ph.D. degree in biomedical or natural science with a specialization in molecular virology and immunology/ drug development and evaluation.
Experience in testing antiviral drugs is essential.
Experience in gene cloning & expression (e.g. plasmid construction, PCR, DNA transfection etc.), protein analysis (e.g. SDS-PAGE, immunoprecipitation, Western Blotting Immunofluorescence Microscopy), and tissue culture techniques (e.g. mammalian cells handling, stock preparation and maintenance of tissue Culture cells, growing virus), animal studies including analysis of immune responses by ELISA, ELISPOTS and fluorescence-activated flow cytometry, would be an asset.
The candidate should be comfortable working with animal and willing to undertake training to work in a containment level 3 environment. Previous experience working under CL3 containment is highly preferred.
Status: 2-year term, with the possibility of extension
