Description

Under the Director of Prevention, the Community Prevention Manager will be required to work within a multidisciplinary community support team. The Community Prevention Manager will implement Youth & Family based programming. The BOCN Community Prevention Manager, is responsible for providing leadership in the development and delivery of services that promote inclusion, participation, creativity, and empowerment to build a vibrant BOCN community where children, youth, and families' safety and well-being are supported by community-based programs and services, which honors intergenerational cultural caring approach. The BOCN Community Prevention Manager is responsible for leading a team of community prevention workers to promote child development, family wellness, resiliency, and self-sufficiency, which will be done through the implementation of community programming to promote language, traditions, and cultural development to ensure the safety and well-being of family preservation for on-reserve BOCN Community Band members. In this role, you will coordinate efforts in planning with external partners and stakeholders to develop effective intervention services and programming strategies that will promote reunification, and repatriation, and seek to prevent separating a child or young person from their family, wherever possible, while ensuring supports are in place that enables families to thrive. You are responsible for ensuring the delivery of prevention services that will connect our BOCN community members to meet the emotional, mental, psychological, physical, and social support needs of all. The BOCN Community Prevention Manager will promote and provide respectful leadership, direction, and a strategic vision to a team of community prevention specialists who will be carrying a caseload on the families that will be utilizing our programs.
