Position Description:
Under the general supervision of the Child Care Director and under the direct supervision of the Assistant
Director, the Early Childhood Educator is responsible to maintain and develop the childrens program with their group of children in the Downtown Childcare centers. This team member must adhere to all the policies and regulations as set out in the Parent Handbook and Child Care Staff Manual.
Responsibilities:
Providing a safe environment for all children
Programming for children utilizing the Play and Exploration principles
Be a team player
Have a positive attitude
Punctual and dependable
Support and work collaboratively with parents and all stake holders
*Communicate professionally, effectively, and respectfully with children, colleagues, and family members.
Qualifications:
Required
Good written and verbal communication skills
Criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
Early Childhood Education Level I or enrolled in ECE Level I classes
Experience working with children
Asset
ECE related experience
Knowledge of child development stages
