Description

The Drug Plan and Extended Benefits Branch is seeking a highly motivated, innovative, and strategic leader with skills in policy development, implementation, and partner relationships for the role of Director, Professional Practice Unit.

As the Director, you will apply your strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and analyze emerging issues and strategically design, implement and maintain innovative pharmacist services/programs, ensure accountability and the ongoing effectiveness of the services/programs, as well as support the role of the pharmacist/pharmacy in offering improved services/programs/access to Saskatchewan residents.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience leading staff, managing multiple priorities, and knowledge of change and project management. You will have senior experience in policy development, identifying and maintaining relationships, and a strong ability to identify complex risks and issues and develop proactive strategies to address them. As a public servant, you will work to align your Units work with Branch, Ministry, and Government priorities and display the core values in pursuit of the Governments Commitment to Excellence.

Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position would be gained through a postgraduate degree in business or public administration, pharmacy, health economics, health sciences or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. A pharmacy degree, combined with several years of experience working as a community or institutional pharmacist, as well as managerial experience in pharmacy or other health-related environments, would be considered an asset.
