The Village of Buchanan is seeking a Temporary / Casual Office Clerk
Position Summary:
This position reports directing to the Acting Administrator. This position is responsible for providing administrative and clerical services in the areas of processing payments, accounts payable entries, as well as Utility Billing.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
accept utility and property tax payments
accounts payable entries
assist with Utility Billing
general office duties including answering the telephone, responding to emails, filing, typing documents
other duties as assigned by Acting Administrator
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Must have experience with software including Munisoft, Word, Excel
Ensure the confidentiality of all information in accordance with The Municipal Freedom of Information and Protections of Privacy Act, as well as the ability to comprehend applicable Legislation such as The Municipalities Act and The Tax Enforcement Act
Proven ability to communicate effectively as a front-line customer service representative and interact with the public in a positive manner
Ability to multi task and maintain tact and professionalism at all times
Must be able to work with limited supervision
Must be bondable and agree to a criminal record check
Please note this is a Temporary Position with a limited number of hours
