Description

This temporary-term maternity leave position reports to the Manager, Policy and Program Development and is responsible for developing and implementing new programs and improving existing programs that align with both the corporate and Ministry of Agriculture strategic plan.  
To be successful in this position you will need a degree in agriculture with a minimum of two years related experience and knowledge of recommended agronomic practices, forage and livestock production, crop production and/or soil science. The successful candidate must be eligible to maintain membership in the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists. Other qualifications include:

Knowledge of Saskatchewan agriculture, including agriculture issues, policies and programs.
Knowledge of statistical methods and their application to agricultural research
Investigative and analytical skills, with the ability to recognize and evaluate the implications and problems involved in integrating research findings into operational programs.
Use of professional judgment to make recommendations on program design and operations that are defensible from agronomic, scientific, actuarial, and public policy perspectives.
Organizational and documentation skills.
Ability to gather, sort and prepare useful information for co-analysts, managers, SCIC divisions, the Board of Directors and government agencies.
Administrative skills such as project management, establishment of cost summaries, procedure development and basic management principles.
Communication skills including ability to prepare and present concise reports through various mediums.
