Responsibilities:
-Perform activities including:
o Prepare and present safety topics
o Inspections relating to the Fire Prevention Program
o Data entry and analysis utilizing leading and lagging indicators
o Problem solving
o Warehouse/purchasing specification support
o Meeting regulatory deadlines for actions and reports
-Support Operational Leaders and Teams with respect to:
o Hazard identification, risk communication and analysis
o Authorization and permit to work systems
o Workplace audits and observations
o Non-conformance and incident investigation
o Change Management technical support
o Contractor Management
-Emergency Response Team support such as:
o Training
o Emergency equipment maintenance and equipment checks
o Participate in the Incident Command Structure (ICS) as trained
Skills and Qualifications:
-Safety Certification or active pursuit of a certification is required (e.g., CRSP, CHSC, NEBOSH, etc.)
-Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety is preferred
-Experience in Emergency Response is an asset
-Experience in an industrial or mining environment is preferred
-Experience/training in the following areas is preferred:
o Hazard analysis and risk assessment
o Root cause analysis
o Behavior based safety and human factors
o Industrial Hygiene
-Familiarity with health and safety regulations
-Knowledge of the ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Standard and its implementation would be considered an asset
-Past experience in the use of Synergie database is preferred
-Demonstrated ability to teach and speak publicly
-Good written and oral communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
-Preference will be given to qualified Residents of Saskatchewans North (RSN)
Work Location & Schedule:
-McClean Lake site
-14 days in and 14 days out rotating schedule
-Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside or normal working hours may be required
