Description

At the Ministry of Highways, we work with our partners to provide a safe, reliable transportation system. Connecting Saskatchewan to the rest of the world is vital to Saskatchewans growth and quality of life.

In the Materials and Surfacing Unit of the Design and Construction Division, we serve many internal and external clients with their sand and gravel needs. We seek an individual who is excited about exploring the diverse landscapes of the province of Saskatchewan.

As the Assistant Aggregate Manager, you will supervise field staff, perform field surveys, pit inspections, and process and maintain aggregate resource data. You will analyze data including GIS databases, aggregate resource plans, global positioning system (GPS) files, permits, and sample submissions sheets, to assess the quality and quantity of materials.

Typically, the knowledge required for this position would be obtained through a Geographic Information Systems diploma and/or an Applied Sciences and Technology diploma with two (2) years of progressively responsible related work experience, or equivalent qualification.

Approximately 50% of the job involves travel to various gravel sources in the province. A valid drivers license and the ability to travel independently is necessary for this role.
