in North Battleford, Saskatchewan

invites applications for the following position

MENTAL HEALTH SCHOOL PROMOTER

Commencing August 19, 2024.

This is a full-time temporary position with a termination date of June 30, 2025.

If you are passionate about advocacy, student success, and working closely with families, agencies and community, this is the position for you. At times students and their families face mental health and wellness challenges. Schools may also face difficult or traumatic situations that require additional support or advocacy. This position will work closely with all to increase knowledge and skills around strong mental health practices. This position will also entail work within a team to recognize, access, understand and adapt to the changing needs of their community, related to mental health and wellness. This is a full time contract (7.5 hours per day, with some flexibility when required).

The successful candidate must possess well developed interpersonal skills, have the ability to take initiative and work independently, and havea positive and supportive attitude in a team environment. Applicants must have post-secondary training in a health or social science field (eg. health promotion and prevention) or equivalent post-secondary education and experience in a related field. Certificates/training in dealing with Addictions, Counselling, Family of Origin, Sexual Abuse Prevention, parenting skills and/or suicide/depression prevention would be an asset. Successful applicant must have a valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle.
