Housing Support Workers are a part of a team providing services in a community based setting working with adults who have experienced chronic homelessness.
Duties and responsibilities include assisting members in the skills of daily living, medication management & the delivery/facilitation of Managed Alcohol & conducting groups in life skills & health teachings. The Support Worker must act as a positive role model to members & treat everyone with fairness, honesty & respect.
Must be able to lift heavy objects as moving furniture is a significant component of the job in order to house individuals experiencing homelessness
Support Workers must be willing & able to provide First Aid/CPR. They must be able to take a proactive approach & provide appropriate responses to members disclosing thoughts of self-harm or suicide, hallucinations, delusions or other symptoms & challenging behaviors. The qualifications: a combination of relevant education & work experience in the human services field. Must possess a valid drivers license. Hours of work are Monday-Friday 08:30-17:00.
