Description

Tasks:
-Develop & implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children.
-Lead Activities by telling stories, teaching songs.
-Provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music & physical activity.
-Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing & toilet habits.
-Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor.
-knowledge of licensing regulations.
-Establish guidelines for behaviour.
-Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members.
-Establish & maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
-Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children.
-Assist in daily cleaning as per regulations.
        
Qualifications
Must be the age of 16 (summer employment, no vulnerable sector check required)
Child development assistant:* No Level Required, having Level 1 is an asset.
Child development worker: ECE Level 1,2,3 required
Safe Food Handling: not require but willing to obtain
All Candidates must provide or willing to obtain CPR Level-C: with in a 1 month period
All Candidates must provide Criminal record check/ vulnerable sector check: Required before start if 18 of age or older
