Overview
The Saskatchewan Research Councils (SRC) Rare Earth Element Division has a career opportunity for a Mechanical/HVAC Engineer or Engineer-In-Training to support the design, procurement, construction, commissioning and operations for SRCs Rare Earth Processing Facility.
Accountabilities
Responsible for complete design requirements for mineral processing equipment, HVAC, dust collection, piping, pumping, and material handling systems related to mining and metal processing, chemical or similar processing industries
Prepare, review and evaluate documents, including construction work package documents, Material Takeoffs (MTO), Request for Quotations (RFQ), technical bid evaluations, specifications, contract documents and vendor submittals/drawings
Perform field verification and provide on-site support during construction and commissioning
Interface with contractors and vendors and manage external engineering contracts
Work independently to apply engineering principles to perform calculations for mechanical equipment design including material handling systems, pump sizing, chute and launder sizing, and piping analysis
Review project documents prior to issue for scope, presentation, and technical accuracy
Review, verify, and approve drawings and design work related to plant equipment and support structures
Qualifications
Mechanical engineering degree
Minimum 2 years of experience in mining, mineral and metal processing, chemical or similar processing industries
The chosen candidate will be required to provide an original Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to SRC prior to the commencement of any employment duties. The Criminal Record Check must have been executed within the preceding 30 days of receipt.
