Gateway Regional Victim Services
Assistant Coordinator
Gateway Regional Victim Services is a non-profit organization that works in cooperation with the RCMP to provide assistance to victims of crime and traumatic events.  The position of Victim Service Assistant Coordinator is 32 hours a week (Monday-Thursday / Tuesday-Friday), located in the Meadow Lake RCMP detachment and is responsible to ensure the delivery of quality service to clients within the RCMP detachment areas of Meadow Lake, Loon Lake, Pierceland, and Green Lake.

Duties include the overall management of a police-affiliated Victim Service program; recruitment, training and supervision of volunteers; collaboration with community partners; and direct service delivery.  The Victim Service Assistant Coordinator works under the direction of the Coordinator of Gateway Regional Victim Services.

Qualifications
  Related post-secondary education; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be
     considered.
  Successful completion of security clearance by RCMP
  Demonstrated strength in interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills
  Understanding of best practices in volunteer management
  Ability to write and interpret reports
Ability to organize and maintain administrative files and processes
  Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently
  Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and week-ends as required for on-call
  Valid drivers license, personal vehicle and ability to travel within program area

Assets
  Experience working for a non-profit organization
  Experience in management of volunteers
  Experience in providing crisis intervention services
  Experience working in a police environment and/or with victims of crime
  Knowledge of First Nations culture, history and language
