Description

What you'll do:
Reporting to the Manager, Employee and Labour Relations, this positions primary responsibility is to recruit, screen and select candidates to fill open positions within the organization. Responsibilities also include classification, orientation, and policy development, as well as perform a range of human resource responsibilities to support the corporations needs.
Manage the recruitment process, including working with managers to address vacancy management, developing recruitment postings, interview guides, and assessment tools and facilitating the interview/offer process.
Facilitate new employee first day orientation process and provide support and recommendations to managers regarding probationary periods.
Complete job classifications of in-scope positions, determining the classification level and providing written rationale.
Provide advice and guidance to managers regarding collective agreement and policy interpretation, as well as performance management and sensitive personnel issues.
Research and develop policies for the Human Resources Policy Manual.
Foster and maintain positive working relationships with employees.
Provide advice and guidance to employees and managers regarding workplace issues.
Provide support to employees and managers on workplace accommodation.
Provide leadership to employees, managers and divisions to ensure benefit plans and relocation benefits are understood.
Maintain job descriptions.
Assist with annual updates of employee handbook and OH & S handbook.
