The Moose Jaw Housing Authority (MJHA) has a career opportunity for a Journeyperson Plumber.
As a member of the MJHA Property Services team, the Plumber-Maintenance Technician 3 is responsible for all plumbing and HVAC building systems in all properties we manage. These properties include single and multi-unit dwellings with individual systems, small apartment buildings, and large high-rise properties.
This is a permanent full-time position with regular hours of work, Monday-Friday 8:00AM - 5:00 PM as per the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). This position is required to be a member of our On-Call rotation, which is compensated as per the current CBA.
The MJHA provides all required tools for this position, a well-equipped Shop and vehicle for daily use. We offer a competitive compensation package salary, employer-matched pension, benefits, annual leave as per our current CBA.
POSITION REQUISITES
Education/Experience
-Journeyman Plumber
-Possess a valid Fireman Boiler Operator License or acquire one
-Possess a valid WHMIS certificate or acquire one
-Demonstrated knowledge of technical developments, advances in practices, equipment, supplies, regulatory codes and laws (e.g., OH&S, National Building code)
-Possess a valid Saskatchewan drivers license with clean abstract
-Provide a Criminal Record Check
Demonstrated Abilities
-Good general, trade-specific knowledge of residential and commercial plumbing, heating, boiler systems, air conditioning systems
-Troubleshoot, problem solve building components and equipment at an advanced level
-Strong critical thinking and work-prioritization skills
-Knowledge, experience, and a desire to work with all tenants, peers and contractors
-Communicate and work effectively with our team
-Able to walk from the 1st to the 16th floor in any M.J.H.A. building, lift 35.0 kg several times daily, able to walk a minimum of 5 km daily
