Description

The Family Support Worker should have a diverse skill set to provide in-home support and guidance to families with varying risk factors. They are expected to provide hands-on and non-judgmental services to families within Foxvalley Counselling Inc. Staff will work diligently to support the families in the program(s) with tasks such as: budgeting, daily routines, parenting, healthy boundaries, life skills, and connecting with additional formal and in-formal supports in the community. The Family Support Worker will address issues such as addiction, transiency, domestic violence issues, and other types of traumas. This is a program that advocates for reunification of families and provides them with a safe and sober living environment.

There is ONE full-time, and ONE part-time position available.
The full-time position hours are Monday to Friday from 9am-5pm (40hrs/week).
The part-time position hours are Wednesday-Friday from 4-8pm and BOTH Saturday and Sunday from 10am-2pm (20hrs/week).

Requirements:
-Post-secondary training and/or experience working with agencies that support families and children.
-Current First Aid and CPR.
-Knowledge and experience working with families who have experienced trauma, addictions, emotional and mental challenges.
-Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous culture and historical trauma.
-Conflict resolution skills.
-Computer skills and report writing.
-Valid drivers license, and additional appropriate insurance coverage to transport families.
-Criminal record check, including vulnerable sector check required upon hire.
