Under the direction of the North Central Community Association (NCCA) Executive Director the Community Recreation Program Assistant will engage with north central community residents for interactive gardening and healthy lifestyle activities.
Duties:
Engage with the NCCA Garden Coordinator and community volunteers to ensure regular maintenance (watering, weeding, harvesting) of the NCCA community gardens.
Research and provide information on a variety of outdoor lifestyle activities for adults and youth.
Create relevant social media content to increase community engagement in NCCA programming.
Develop, deliver, and clearly facilitate informative gardening workshops and outdoor activities for vulnerable and often isolated north central community residents that build community connections and promote health and well-being.
Provide support in the planning and execution of a broad range of community engagement activities.
Collect statistics, document, and maintain accurate written reports as per program expectations.
Requirements:
18 years of age and eligible to work in Canada.
Enrolled in post-secondary education for 2024-25.
Current vulnerable sector criminal record check.
Valid drivers license preferred.
