Description

Hourly Wage:    Starts at $23.34/hour
Start Date:     As soon as possible

SIGN Housing Support seeks an independent, energetic, supportive, resourceful and empathetic person to work with and support individuals within Yorkton, seeking housing and resources. The successful individual will collaborate with the Housing Support Program Manager and other community partners, as well as participate in engagement and education throughout the community.

Expectations:
    Initiate follow up for referrals and case management for new client intakes
    Maintain appropriate data collection and reporting tools
    Develop and facilitate trainings and workshops for clients and staff
    Maintain collaborative relationships
    Provide short-term support to the client and landlord relationship, if required
    Seek new housing opportunities and resources to assist clients with housing
    Support clients with applications, lease agreements, move-in, and understanding their rental rights and responsibilities
    Assist clients with obtaining income, accessing food services, and other relevant supports
    Share housing information to clients and others in a timely fashion
    Be pleasant and effective with a wide range of people of different ages and cultures
    Develop a knowledge of community resources, the Saskatchewan Residential Tenancies Act, and local housing opportunities
    Have a developed understanding of mental health, addictions, and crisis management

Qualifications and experience:
    A Bachelors degree, diploma or certification and training appropriate to the position
    Experience working with marginalized populations
    Valid drivers license and access to a personal motor vehicle for transportation
    A Clean Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Check from RCMP
