Description

Cando Community School is located in the Hamlet of Cando. Our school has a Kindergarten to Grade 12 program, attended by students from the Red Pheasant Cree First Nation, Mosquito First Nation, and surrounding areas. We are looking for a teacher who is skilled and adept at bringing First Nations history to all curricula through an anti-racist and anti-oppressive lens. This special candidate should be able to differentiate instruction in an alternative learning environment and be able to build relationships with students to provide meaningful connections to the curriculum for them. They should also be an advocate for student needs, finding innovative and creative ways to include student voice in school decision-making structures. Summary of Position

This posting is for a Permanent Full-Time Educational Assistant Position at Cando Community School, commencing August 26th, 2024.  Hours of work are 6 hours per day, Monday to Friday.  Educational Assistants are an important part of the school team and promote engagement, participation and success of students. Educational Assistants support students with intensive needs in five key areas: providing personal care, life skills and experiences, academic assistance, communication, and behavioural support as required by students and directed by teachers.


Qualifications

Minimum Grade 12 education with at least one (1) year relevant childcare experience
Post-secondary certificate from a recognized institution in Early Learning & Childcare, Youth Care Worker or equivalent program would be considered an asset
