Hospitality staff are vital team members of the Rose Garden Hospice Association (RGHA) multidisciplinary family providing end-of-life palliative care, service, and quality of life for our guests in a safe, dignified, inclusive home-like environment in a 10 bed facility. This is a combined position that provides dietary, housekeeping and personal laundry services. You will be working with one other Hospitality staff person.
Certificate from a recognized Food Safe Handling course or program
Experience in providing dietary and housekeeping services.
Strong skills and knowledge of cooking and cleaning
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written in English
Respectful, hard working, and compassionate above all else
Dependable and reliable with a good attendance record
Knowledge and prior use of infection control information and policies preferred.
Maintains WHMIS, OH & S, TLR, Food Safe certifications
Demonstrates appropriate professional behaviors' such as: honesty, integrity, humility, commitment, compassion, respect, altruism, respect for diversity, and maintenance of confidentiality and relationships in all aspects of work practice.
Must be able to walk, climb stairs and ladders.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Dietary, housekeeping, laundry
Provides dietary services that fall within the RGH facility policies and procedures.
Work with volunteers to make nutritional meals according to a menu plan.
Organize the kitchen in a way that provides safe delivery of meals while practicing safe food handling skills.
Clean the environment of RGH by using techniques of mopping, dusting, cleaning, and disinfecting, when necessary, in accordance with OH&S, and infection control policies/procedures.
