Description

The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN) is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Jordans Principle team in the role of Senior Researcher/Policy Analyst within the Health
and Social Development Secretariat. This position will be responsible for providing technical and analytical support, including drafting letters and correspondence, leading environmental scans,
preparing briefing materials, conducting policy analysis, and developing written documentation.

Analytical/Technical
Analyze new or revised legislation and policies pertaining to Canadian Human Rights
Tribunal/Federal court rulings for Jordans Principle.
Provide analytical support and advice on Federal and Provincial policies and legislation
pertaining to Jordan's Principle.
Assist in preparing and developing Jordans Principles policies and procedures.
Review internal and external policies and legislation to identify potential implications to
First Nations children.
Research and analyze existing laws, regulations, policies, and processes.
Collaborate with the Director of Jordans Principle to independently prepare reports and
materials, contributing to presentations for the Executive Council and the Legislative
Assembly.
Ensure that all levels of First Nations Governments are properly and accurately informed.
Develop research proposals as required.
Monitor relationships/negotiations between provincial/federal governments and First
Nations.
