Description

The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) is a treasury board crown responsible for emergency communications including Sask911 and SaskAlert, wildfire management, emergency management and fire safety. This centralized agency ensures a single point of contact for communities, greater co-ordination of provincial resources and contributes to safer communities in our province.

The SPSA is seeking an energetic and motivated individual for the position of Senior Financial Analyst, in the Finance Branch. You will be responsible for providing financial services to the various branches within the Agency. Duties will include financial analysis for programs and policies, identification, design and implementation of new ideas, sound financial planning and management practices, and approaches that will improve processes and systems within the agency.

The ideal candidate will have outstanding organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. The ideal candidate will also have strong understanding of budgeting and forecasting principles, Public Sector Accounting Standards, best practices and financial accounting. The ability to think analytically and creatively to support the agencys vision and to connect with the public service at all levels is essential. You will also have a demonstrated ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with others in a team environment to establish, build and maintain positive working relationships and to ensure deadlines, goals and objectives are met.
