Responsibilities:
-Supervise field execution for various projects of mechanical and structural discipline - may include small electrical and instrumentation scopes
-Manage contractors at site:
o Participate in assigned daily tool box talks with the Contractor
o Review and assure adherence the contractors day-to-day job risk analysis processes
o Monitor contractor compliance
o Complete routine and regular inspections
o Participate in incident investigations
o Maintain a daily report including Tool box and field visits, verification of progress, milestones, verification of compliance, and identify coordination issues and mitigation strategies
-Coordinate shutdown activities, including:
o Coordinate on the mobilization and availability of all labour, plant equipment, training resources and logistics requirements
o Modify and adapt to changes during execution
-Champion Contractor Management Program, including:
o Scheduling, logistics, resource requirements, record keeping
o Site support needs - Services/Safety/Radiation Protection, etc.
-Support and manage project material handling
o Material delivery to site and storage
o Identify, create and manage material laydown areas
-Assist to develop construction work packages and installation scopes of work for bidding purposes
Skills and Qualifications:
-A Journeyperson with an inter-provincial ticket(s) or post-secondary education is preferred, but all applicants with applicable experience will be considered
-5+ years of industrial project experience is required
-Experience managing contractors and/or multi trade construction is required
-Leadership and supervisory experience in shutdown/ projects
-Must have effective communication skills
Work Location & Schedule:
-McClean Lake site
-14 days in and 14 days out rotating schedule
-Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside or normal working hours may be required
