Job Description: The incumbent will provide overall clinical and administrative supervision, consultation, and training within the Social Work department. The senior social worker MSW is accountable for the work (quality, quantity, and timeliness) for those they supervise; providing input for performance appraisals, and for participating in selection (gives recommendations) of staff to be hired.

The senior social worker MSW maintains an administrative overview of the group they supervise, and makes recommendations to the Manager about systems issues. The senior social worker MSW will demonstrate leadership and compliance with the Social Work department policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

Masters Degree in Social Work
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)
Experience
Two years recent full-time social work practice experience in a medical setting required.
Supervisory experience and/or experience relevant to the specific clinical assignment would be an asset.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team

Advanced organizational skills
Advanced research skills
Knowledge of the health region and community resources

Field Hours
Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement.  HSAS seniority within the Saskatchewan Health Authority will be considered under the Selection Criteria.
