Job Description: The Business Analyst is responsible for ongoing support of reporting applications software, including maintenance, upgrading, testing, implementation and participation in development including assisting with business cases preparation and developing requirements documents right through to implementation. Under the direction of the HR BSSA Manager, participate in identifying reporting system IT requirements, strategies and solutions for the BSSA Department and the health authority.

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Behavioural Sciences, Education, or related area.
Experience
An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and training deemed acceptable to the employer may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

A good understanding of the tools and techniques of analytical research, financial analysis and/or  business case analysis in a corporate environment
Ability to analyze complex situations and environments and produce workable and practical solutions
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with many individuals and groups including staff, students, unions and the general public
Ability to identify root cause and develop/recommend solutions
Ability to work in a self-directed and autonomous environment
Extensive knowledge of database systems and spreadsheet applications
High level of problem solving skills and a detailed knowledge of business processes in HRIS information and financial systems
Strong business acumen with the ability to think strategically to set priorities and navigate competing issues
