Description

Are you a team player that prioritizes relationships and collaboration? The Policy Branch of the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture is seeking a highly organized, creative, self-motivated, and experienced individual to support work on agricultural policy.

As a Senior Policy Analyst in the Strategic Policy Unit, you will analyze key trends, develop policy options and strategies, participate in working groups and task teams, engage with industry players and provide advice to senior leaders on priority issues that impact the western Canadian agriculture sector. You will be able to anticipate and research critical issues facing agriculture in Saskatchewan and develop innovative and effective policy responses.

Key skills will include the ability to:

- Research, evaluate, and develop policy options on a wide variety of agriculture-related files;
- Clearly articulate complex issues to a variety of audiences both verbally and in writing;
- Build and maintain positive and productive working relationships with other ministries, governments and industry; and,
- Manage projects, committees, and processes to ensure that quality deliverables are completed on time.  

Typically, the skills and knowledge for this position willhave been gained through a combination of a Masters degree in the Social Sciences, Public Policy or Agricultural Economics; and/or,an undergraduate degree in a similar area combined with recent and relevant policy analysis experience.
