Job Description: The Addictions Counsellor Degree Senior will have a number of responsibilities relating to the following areas; Clinical Supervision, Program delivery, Case and File management, Supervision of HIV Case Management and OARS program staff. The Addictions Counsellor Degree Senior will be responsible for staff training and orientation as well as student orientation and schedule within the overall team. They are expected to establish positive relationships with other community organizations and services adjacent to and on site. The Addictions Counsellor Degree Senior will provide a leadership role with staff and work collaboratively with Managers to develop a positive, safe and cohesive atmosphere within the workplace. The Addictions Counsellor Degree Senior will work with the Manager to support program development, evaluation and with the collection of data to inform program development.
Required Qualifications

Degree in Addictions, Social Sciences, or Human Services disciplines requiring a bachelors degree
Experience
2 years relevant field experience as Addictions Counsellor Supervisory experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to be self-directed, creative, and collaborative, in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Ability to present workshops and information sessions
Demonstrated familiarity with and appropriate utilization of the 12 core functions of chemical dependency counsellors.
Demonstrated knowledge of appropriate models (Motivational Interviewing, Bio-Psycho-Social-Spiritual, Relapse Prevention), best practise and evidence based research and clinical practice (counselling, workshops, evaluation and research) for this level of position
