JOB DESCRIPTION  LABOURER / HELPER
  

POSITION SUMMARY

The Labourer / Helper is directly accountable to the Production Supervisor on the floor and the Operations Manager.  
Able to organize, control and prioritize area of responsibility and to carry out tasks to completion on an agreed timetable and to abide by all Vicwest health and safety rules.

The Labourer / Helper will assist in the production and packaging of products for shipping, as well as loading, unloading, and moving inventory materials within the plant. They provide help to Machine Operators and Material Handlers where required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Assisting in Production processes
    Building of custom skids
    Loading and unloading materials
    Operating forklifts to move materials to and from designated areas
    Helping Machine Operators / Material Handlers when required
    Assist in inventorying materials within the plant
    Maintain a safe and clean working environment
    Use a variety of hand/power tools
    Collaborating with and assisting co-workers
    Performing other duties throughout the plant, as required

EDUCATION, SKILL, AND KNOWLEDGE:

    SAP experience an asset
    Experience in a plant position an asset
    Experience in operating forklift an asset (counterbalance and 4-directional)
    Experience with Hand and Air tools
    Flexibility and adaptability to work on a wide variety of tasks
    Flexibility to work varied shifts
    Ability to lift 50+ lbs
