The Ministry of Highways, Traffic Guidance Operations is seeking an organized, motivated Equipment Operator for the Pavement Marking Crew. In this position, you will be responsible to survey/pre-mark newly overlaid sections of the highway and you will plan and install pavement signs in an assigned geographical area. This position is a Labour Service/Seasonal position and is subject to layoff in the fall and recall in the spring.

In this position, you will be responsible to:
- Operate and maintain heavy and light equipment in the application and support of highway pavement marking (light and tandem trucks, forklifts, loaders, walk-behind sprayers and line removers, etc.);
Place 4x8 plywood arrow templates on the road surface; operate paint and glass bead hand-held spray equipment;
- Traffic control; set up work zones by erecting signs;
- Monitor the quality of the application of paint, adjust as necessary, and report as required;
- Perform the duties of the position in a safe manner and in compliance with OH&S Regulations; and,
- Possess basic computer skills in order to manage email, enter and submit timecards/expense claims, etc.
To qualify for this position, the successful candidate will:
- Hold a valid Class 3A or 1A drivers license;
- Provide a current driver abstract (this is also an annual requirement); and,
- Have the physical ability to frequently lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
