Description

The City of Regina is recruiting to add a dynamic and passionate Senior Traffic Engineer with expertise in traffic signal system design and construction, streetlighting (expressway) design and construction, asset management and the design and implementation of traffic signal timing plans. Work involves the application of skilled engineering knowledge to a variety of difficult traffic engineering problems related to traffic signal systems, expressway lighting, data management and traffic safety. As team lead to a group of engineering professionals, you will supervise, mentor and train, while monitoring and managing multiple traffic engineering projects, programs, and expenditures.
Additionally, your responsibilities will include conducting all types of traffic engineering studies, traffic control design, creating policies and design standards, and managing the construction, operation, and contractual requirements of various traffic system projects, including traffic signals, communications systems, signs, expressway lighting, and other related programs.
As the Citys technical expert, you will work closely with external consultants as well as respond to inquiries from the public, the media, and City elected officials. Your professionalism and superior communication skills will serve you well as you will be called upon to prepare and present reports to Committees, Council and Senior Management.
