Primarily responsible to provide mental health counselling services and support to individuals of all ages with Autism and their caregivers/families, with a particular focus on supporting adults with ASD. This position supports people in dealing with complex issues and experiencing significant distress/dysfunction, trauma, cumulative stress and/or problems in daily living related to ASD and mental health matters. Delivery model includes individual and group support. This multifaceted position encompasses building community connections, liaising with collateral service resources and community capacity-building through presenting information, education, and training. The incumbent must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision and possess a strong desire to work collaboratively with clients, families, and with multidisciplinary team members and stakeholders. There will be considerable opportunity to provide input into program development, planning, implementation and evaluation.
Qualifications:
-Preference for a Masterss Degree in Counselling, Psychology, or Social Work.
-Professional license/registration with Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers, Saskatchewan College of Psychologists, or Canadian Counsellor and Psychotherapy Association or registration with a mental health association.
-Post-graduate counselling experience with multiple populations including those with autism; and demonstrated knowledge/professional practice skills in front line services including case management, counselling/clinical services, program management, and brief service/crisis intervention. Clinical training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Applied Behaviour Analysis desirable.
-Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in the development, delivery and coordination of ASD-mental health specific treatment programming for individuals of all ages with ASD.
-Valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle is required
