Description

SINC Underground Services Inc is a contractor providing horizontal directional drilling for all utility installation services.  Our operations within Western Canada has a need for experienced Hydrovac Operators. This position entails travelling from town to town; the successful candidate is responsible to find own accommodations which are compensated with LOA. Applicants must have a valid drivers license (Class 1or3),clean abstract and pass a criminal record check

Duties
Perform debris removal, slot trenching, daylighting and digging
Set up and inspect grounding and/or bonding mat procedures for Hydrovac operation
Operate Hydrovac trucks and equipment in a safe and professional manner
Monitor and maintain all Hydrovac equipment; ensure all components are in good working order and adhering to maintenance schedules
Complete all required paperwork properly on a daily basis
Ensure proper function by performing pre and post trip inspections and general housekeeping - report any inefficiencies to Supervisor
Complete and maintain Driver Logs per DOT Regulations
Maintain and use appropriate personal protective equipment
Follow all policies and procedures set out by Sinc and manufacturer

Experience
Experience operating Hydro Vac in Urban and Rural settings an asset
Previous experience in the telecommunication industry considered an asset
Knowledge of ELD based systems is considered an asset
Certification in first aid, ground disturbance, confined spaces

Knowledge
Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail
Ability to work in all weather conditions, confined spaces, isolation
Ability to work in a physically demanding atmosphere, must be able to lift and carry 50lbs+
Self-disciplined, motivated, organized, and a team player
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadline

Willingness to work overtime, weekends
