The City of Moose Jaw is seeking to fill a temporary full-time Clerk Steno position in the Operations Department for approximately 16 months. Under the direction of the Manager of Operations, the Clerk Steno performs administrative and clerical functions required for the day to day operations of the Department.
This position will perform the following duties:
Assemble, Collate and type material such as: letters, notices, contracts, policies, reports, forms, etc. and operate various office equipment
Provide reception to the Department by answering telephone and radio calls, directing enquiries appropriately
Assist in scheduling Transit operators
Input and assign public requests for service
Prepare, maintain and track departmental records, minutes, records and other data for referral or action
Collect, process and deposit monies received and maintain files
Issues sales and purchase orders
Administrative duties for various City boards, committees and commissions
Qualified applicants will possess:
Grade 12 education and Office Education or equivalent from a recognized program of study
1 year of experience in an administrative/secretarial capacity
Accurate word processing/typing skills at 60 words per minute
Experience with Windows based systems and various Microsoft Office programs
Valid Class 5 drivers license, be able to provide current drivers abstract and be insurable
Ability to lift 25lbs and walk long distances
Strong clerical, organizational and communication skills
Ability to multitask and establish priorities with minimum supervision
Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety act and regulations
