The CTK Prevention office is hiring a Post Majority Assistant for Post Majority Support Services and programs that will be based out of Carry the Kettle. The program is designed for youth exiting or leaving care due to having reached the age when mandated or legislated services end and will serve youth aging out of care and who are considered ordinarily resident on-reserve.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The assistant is responsible for providing one-on-one assistance and collaboration in an individual-focused approach with young adults. This role will focus on building trust and engagement with young adults. The assistant will provide support to the Post Majority worker for young adults regarding decision making and lifestyle choices that will help build independence and reach goals. The role will support young adults to attend activities, events and outings, attend appointments, and expand social networks, cultural knowledge, language and teachings. The role will be required to be flexible and responsible to meet changing needs of services and programs and be adaptable when necessary.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum Grade 12 Diploma.
Previous Youth worker experience.
Valid class 5 drivers license, reliable vehicle with insurance.
Provide 3-year drivers abstract.
Satisfactory Criminal Record Check including vulnerable sector.
Strong working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite include Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook, Database.
Knowledge and understanding of Carry the Kettle culture, traditions and language an asset.

Able to coordinate, plan and organize recreational and social activities.
Support youth and young adults by providing resources and information in areas including, but not limited to parenting, cultural, budgeting, meal planning and life skills
