Job Description: The Regional Nurse Educator assists the Director of Acute Care Services in the establishment and maintenance of high standards of safe, patient care through the assessment of learning needs of staff of Acute Care, Long Term Care, Home Care, Public Health, and Primary Health Care (Creighton, Sandy Bay, and Pinehouse), facilitation and coordination of orientation and training to meet employee needs, and evaluation of education and training.  The Regional Nurse Educator assists with the development, implementation and evaluation of nursing policies and procedures based on evidence based best practice.  The Regional Nurse Educator assists nursing staff in implementation of best practice through researching and disseminating knowledge to staff.  The Regional Nurse Educator keeps current through maintaining licensure as a registered nurse and through providing direct patient care as determined in consultation with the Director of Acute Care Services. Although working primarily in La Ronge, the Regional Nurse Educator will travel to Creighton, Sandy Bay, and Pinehouse to facilitate and coordinate education with nursing staff in these locations as determined through discussions with the DACS. The Regional Nurse Educator will also travel outside of the region as necessary to meet learning needs related to the position.


Required Qualifications

Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
CPR certification
Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
Valid Class 5 driver's license
Experience
- Minimum of three to five years working in an acute care setting
- An equivalent of education and experience may be considered
