Description

The Saskatoon Friendship Inn recognizes that without proper nutrition, people living in poverty experience high levels of illness and stress. Hunger negatively affects every aspect of daily life in ways that are difficult to understand by those who have not experienced this challenge. By responding with two nutritious meals, 365 days of the year, the Friendship Inn empowers individuals and families to focus on other emergent issues such as securing housing, finding employment, and creating healthy relationships.

The Program Supervisor works primarily to ensure the safe, hospitable and efficient running of the Free Meal Program. This involves opening and closing protocols, welcoming and orienting volunteers and Fine Options participants, supporting floor staff to fulfill their various stations and duties, and supporting the kitchen staff with the flow of resources as needed. During meal services times, the Program Supervisor is present in the dining room, ensuring that guests of the Friendship Inn are welcomed and served with respect and dignity. The Program Supervisor also assists with the successful completion of  holiday meal days or special events. The Program Supervisor may be the sole lead on weekends or statutory holidays when no other Management Staff is on site.
