Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Educational Assistant to provide support to a child on the autism spectrum. As an Educational Assistant, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the learning and development of the child, ensuring a supportive and inclusive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with the child on the autism spectrum to provide personalised support and assistance in academic and social activities.
Collaborate with teachers and therapists to implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and behavioural interventions.
Assist the child in transitioning between activities and managing sensory needs.
Foster positive social interactions and communication skills development.
Implement visual supports and other strategies to promote independence and success.
Monitor and document the child's progress and behaviour, communicating regularly with the educational team and parents/guardians.
Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for the child and their peers.

Requirements:

Previous experience working with children on the autism spectrum or individuals with special needs.
Police criminal check clearance is compulsory.
First Aid and CPR certification.
Early Childhood Education (ECE) Level 1 certificate is appreciated.
Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and evidence-based interventions.
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting diverse learning needs.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
