Duties and responsibilities:
Summer Fun is a recreation and leisure program for children and youth experiencing physical disabilities ages 6 to 22 years. The Summer Fun Coordinators are responsible for coordinating the program  from June to August.  
Duties include:
-    Coordinating/conducting community-based recreational activities (afternoons)                  
-    Providing an engaging, interactive, safe, and fun atmosphere for participants
-    Conducting participant selection (includes home visits with participants/support team members)      
-    Recruiting, training & coordinating volunteers for outings
-    Preparing & distributing activity schedules
-    Implementing and coordinating new events
-    Promoting Summer Fun to local businesses to secure donations
-    Assisting with the coordination of participant transportation/providing occasional transportation using personal vehicle
-    Administrative duties (e.g., submitting receipts, tracking attendance & completing evaluations).
-    Assisting at Camp Easter Seal on an as needed basis (if required)

Qualifications:
Education:
-    Student or recent graduate who is involved in post-secondary education in the human services field (i.e., Social Work, Education, Kinesiology, Recreational Therapy, or related disciplines)
Experience:
-    Experience working with children and youth experiencing a disability considered an asset
Skills:
-    Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills                              
-    Computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Suite
-    Innovative and creative thinking skills
-    Valid First Aid & CPR certificates
-    Valid drivers licence and access to a personal vehicle
Final Candidates are required to provide satisfactory criminal record checks including a vulnerable sector search.
