Job Description: The Health Educator - Senior (Population Health Promotion) provides leadership for the development, implementation and evaluation of population-based strategies to create the conditions that support health for residents of Saskatchewan. This position leads and builds capacity for the development of healthy public policy, creating supportive environments, strengthening community action, and re-orienting health services. This position engages with other population health staff, SHA departments, inter-sectoral agencies, and community partners to help set direction for population health promotion strategies, with an emphasis on addressing social determinant of health and increasing health equity.
Required Qualifications

Degree in Community Development, Social Sciences, Health Science or other related discipline is required
Valid Class 5 driver's license
Experience
Minimum of two years work experience in community-based population health promotion or directly related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to lead and work as part of collaborative partnerships across professions, health authorities, jurisdictions, sectors, and with individuals, communities and other agencies.
Ability to work independently
Advanced knowledge and experience in the application of population health promotion strategies and understanding of the broader social determinants of health and health equity.
Competency in using Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Demonstrated ability to take initiative
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working with marginalized and vulnerable populations, including practices of cultural competence and cultural safety, especially in relati
