Description

The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) is seeking a results-oriented, dynamic and motivated individual for the position of Duty Office Support. This position will assist the Response Centre Duty Officer (FCDO) with reviewing the following information in the Wildfire Integration Information Network (WIIN) computerized information system: daily preparedness; Initial Phone Reports (IPR); export information; assignment of resources; resource requests, and incident information input by the Protection areas.

The successful candidate will compile and track Response Centre reports, as well as crew export manifests when required. You will interact with aircraft companies to correct flight reports and verify/input flight information. You will also: compile information for reports; compile/update crew export manifests access information on internal networks and websites; provide briefings and information to helicopter pilots and others at the response center; perform regular aircraft bulk fuel tests including recording, maintaining and reconciling fuel log books; and provide training to new Response Center Support staff.

You will also be required to perform general office duties such as filing, answering phones, sending faxes, scanning documents, and arranging for venues for meetings and accommodations for staff or contractors as required.

Working conditions can include working shift work and weekends, working extended hours and/or working for up to 12 days in a row. You may be required to travel to remote locations on rough roads in inclement weather conditions. You may also be asked to work away from assigned headquarters for extended periods of time.  

The successful candidate must possess and maintain a valid class 5 or greater drivers license. You must also have a working knowledge of office equipment including computers, photocopiers and fax machines.
