Description

The Care Services Manager (CSM) operates in an environment of self-initiation and independence providing a broad spectrum of services in collaboration with Site Lead and other CSMs.  As a Registered Nurse, the CSM will oversee the quality of care provided by Samaritan Place.    The CSM will develop and implement standards of nursing practice, practice guidelines, education strategies, quality management and care system change.

The Care Services Manager will contribute to the development of knowledge and the improvement of practice at Samaritan Place working in collaboration with other Care Service Managers. This will be accomplished through the demonstration of leadership and the modeling of professionalism and accountability in all interactions with care team members. The Care Services Manager will conduct in-depth assessments of care practice situations or systems and provide for the implementation of evidence based best practice. The Care Services Manager is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of high standards of resident care and may assume delegated administrative, clinical and educational responsibilities.  The Care Services Managers specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, participating in policy and procedure implementation, monitoring standards of practice, monitoring quality of care indicators, planning, developing, implementing and maintaining quality improvement initiatives. The Care Services Manager is also responsible for the direct supervision of the Licensed Practical Nursing complement, and Continuing Care Aides including attendance management strategy, training and contributing to performance management and disciplinary processes.
