Facility: MENTAL HEALTH - SHR
Job Description: The Community Mental Health and Addictions Nurse Navigator position reports to the Manager of Adult Community and Rehabilitation Services in Mental Health and Addiction Services (MH&AS).  This position is responsible for the provision of clinical assessment, case management and interventions as well as health promotion and prevention services to Sunrise Health Region (SHR) clients experiencing problems related to mental health and addictions.

The Community Mental Health and Addictions Nurse Navigator position also provides assessments and therapeutic interventions for clients and their families, addressing the emotional and social needs of clients facing mental health and addiction issues, with the primary objective to support and strengthen social functioning.  This is done through collaboration with the client and/or family, the MH&AS Interdisciplinary Team and other services providers within SHR and communities.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing or Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing
Knowledge of the local First Nations, culture, customs, traditions and language
Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) or Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan (RPNAS)
Experience
A minimum of two (2) years experience as a nurse in a mental health and addictions environment in the previous five (5) years.
Direct related experience in First Nations health.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to communicate with and maintain an effective working relationship with clients from diverse social, economic and cultural backgrounds
