Description

This position is currently located in our Head Office location in Melville, Saskatchewan, with consideration for a hybrid work arrangement within Saskatchewan. Hybrid Work arrangements will have an expectation to attend in person for the following:
Onsite divisional meetings
Training
Engagement and team collaboration events
Corporate meetings and events
What you'll do:
Reporting to the Executive Director, Accounting, this position is responsible for managing and reporting financially on all SCIC programs including Crop Insurance, AgriStability, Livestock Price Insurance and the Wildlife Damage Compensation Programs.
Prepare and monitor budgets and forecasts for SCIC programs and administration funds.
Coordinate the annual year-end external audit for SCIC and act as a liason with the Corporation's external auditors.
Maintain capital assets within SCIC's ERP system ensuring to analyze expenses for capital assets and maintain capital asset register according to the policy.
Analyze accounting and budgeting systems, plan solutions in accordance with sound acceptable accounting principles and recommend approval.
Review and approval of federal and provincial program and administration claims in accordance with Federal and Provincial Agricultural Frameworks.
Develop and implement policy and procedures for program forecasting and budgeting, capital asset, contract management and other areas as needed.
Provide direction and day-to-day leadership and management to the accounting analyst.
As a member of the Finance management team, assist with the development and implementation of strategic initiatives defined in the corporate plan.
