Responsibilities:
To provide task-based English Instruction to adult newcomers, while increasing their understanding of Canadian norms through community connections. Language training is based on the Canadian Language Benchmarks and outcomes are assessed using the Portfolio-Based Language Assessment (PBLA) framework.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Education
TESL SK and/or TESL Canada accreditation
Consideration will also be given to a combination of related university degree and work experience.
Experience teaching ESL to adults is an asset
Applicants must be able to work in Canada
Required Licenses and/or certificates:
Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check;
Must be willing to complete both PBLA training and CLB boot camp;
Remuneration: $30.93 per hour

Responsibilities:
Develop course content with lessons following Canadian Language Benchmarks;
Provide instruction in English as a Subsequent Language adult program;
Provide appropriate evaluation, assessment, and feedback to students
Maintain records of achievement, attendance, and other student related information and report such information as required;
Practice excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
Pursue professional development opportunities to keep current with employer and educational requirements;
Work cooperatively in a team environment as well as independently;
Follow regulations and policies adopted by the YWCA;
All other tasks as requested by Manager;
Probation: All YWCA Prince Albert positions contain a three-month probation period.
