Description

Thorpe Brothers Limited (TBL) is a family owned company operating since 1946 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and surrounding area.  TBL serves residential and commercial customers with a broad range of plumbing, heating, air conditioning and ventilation services and solutions.

TBL currently has an opportunity available in its office for the position of Accountant.  This position includes responsibility for the following tasks and objectives.

Ongoing maintenance and improvement of TBLs accounting and related information system including security and backup.
Provide accounting and systems support to various TBL personnel.
Month-end accounting system procedures.
Annual financial statements and related accounting review materials.
Interim financial statements and other reports/materials, as required.
Monthly bank reconciliation.
Regular filing and remittance of PST, GST, payroll deductions and corporate tax.
Various bi-weekly payroll functions and annual T-4 filing.
Annual WCB filing, interim estimates and filing.
Materials for annual insurance renewal and for annual bonding renewal.
Annual sub-contractor payments filing.
This position requires a hands-on, open-door approach geared towards adding value to TBL.  As such, good verbal and written communications skills, good organizational, time-management and technical skills, leadership, adaptability and focus are part this positions overall character.  An accounting designation, or enrolment in a recognized accounting program, would be beneficial to this position.  However, weight will be given to demonstration of successful performance of the above tasks and objectives in a prior role.
