Job Description: The Nurse Practitioner(NP) supports the mission, philosophy and objectives of The Saskatchewan Health Authority. The NP will provide Primary Health Care Services to the clients/patients seeking service at their Primary Health Care Site, residents at the Long Term Care Centre and other services determined by the community and program needs. This is done in collaboration with the family physicians, other health care providers, community organizations and programs including the LTC residents and their families to provide daily patient safety, community development, clinical practice redesign, quality improvement and ongoing evaluations. This may include but is not limited to health assessments, health promotion, education and treatments. The NP establishes and communicates diagnosis for common medical conditions through health assessment and synthesis of data, prescribing medications, ordering and interpreting of diagnostic tests, working within the full scope of practice of a Nurse Practitioner and Saskatchewan Health Authority policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Nursing
Registered Nurse - Nurse Practitioner Program
Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) as an RN (NP) or RN (GNP)
Valid drivers license or the ability to travel both within the Region and Provincially
Experience
Three (3) years full-time experience working as a RN in acute care or primary care, including community needs assessment, community development and health promotion.
Knowledge of addictions theory and interventions strategies involving drugs, alcohol or tobacco
Knowledge and skill in assessment, treatment and education related to sexual health.<
