Overview
The Saskatchewan Research Councils (SRC) Rare Earth Element Division has a career opportunity for an Industrial Mechanic to support the construction, commissioning, and operations for SRCs Rare Earth Processing FacilityNorth Americas first fully integrated, commercial, demonstration facility with hydrometallurgy, separation and metal smelting units. Join a growing team that is working to establish a rare earth element (REE) technology hub in Saskatchewan, forming an industry model for future commercial REE initiatives and supply chain development.
Accountabilities
-Assemble, install, monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, dismantle and move complex equipment
-Operate plant processing equipment and validate performance as required; determine and act on required maintenance (e.g., cleaning, lubricating, aligning/adjusting parts and calibrating)
-Work with the design and engineering team on plant construction and new plant equipment installation; interpret and act on information gathered from drawings and operating & installation manuals
-Contribute to developing preventative maintenance plans and spare parts lists
Qualifications
-Certified Red Seal Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Journeyperson
-Three to five years industrial experience
-Previous training and operation of mobile power equipment and overhead cranes are an asset
-Valid Class 5 drivers licence
-All training required for the position will be provided as needed
Skills
-Team player with effective interpersonal and communication skills
-Experience in installing, operating, maintaining and repairing mineral processing equipment
-Confident using Microsoft Office applications, digital communications and reading digital drawings
-Heavy lifting may be required
