Description

The Town of LeRoy is accepting applications for the position of permanent full-time Assistant Foreman. The Town of LeRoy is a progressive community that is looking to hire an energetic, ambitious team player into the permanent full-time role of Assistant Foreman.  Reporting to the Town Foreman, the Assistant Foreman supports maintenance and operations of utilities, public works operations and LeRoy Community Centre operations.   Responsible for the day to day operations including: monitoring and documenting the performance of the water and wastewater facilities through operating checks, and preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment, pumps, and machinery.  Collection of samples for testing in accordance with operative procedures of the water and wastewater systems.  Maintain a good condition of roads and sidewalks during winter months by snowplowing, sanding, and shoveling as well as general maintenance including patching and crack filling.  Maintain equipment and tools in safe operating condition.  Required to respond to emergency situations as they arise.  Maintain landscaping for various Town areas and buildings.  Operate LeRoy Community Centre throughout winter season in a safe and efficient manner.

Successful applicant must possess Grade 12 or GED, Valid Class 5 Drivers License, Clean Driving Abstract, Clean Criminal Record and must have or be able to obtain certification for Class 1 Water Treatment, Class 1 Water Distribution, Class 1 Wastewater Collection,     Class 1 Wastewater Treatment, Class 2 Water Treatment, Class 2 Water Distribution.

The successful applicant should also be able to work without supervision, have strong interpersonal skills to be able to work with co-workers and also maintain polite, tactful relations with the general public. Willingness for continuing education, including obtaining all necessary certifications.
