Facility: Youth Resource Center
Job Description: Under the supervision of the Manager of the Specialized Youth Programs team, The Recreation Therapist will provide recreation services to youth between the ages of 12 and 18.  The incumbent will possess expertise in the area of recreation therapy and experience in developing recreation programs. The Recreation Therapist will utilize accepted therapeutic recreation assessment procedures and techniques to aid in the understanding, diagnosis, treatment and management of youth who are receiving services with the Day Program team.  Incumbent must be able to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with all contacts, be able to work effectively on a multi-disciplinary team and with community partners.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Recreation Studies  with a specialization in Therapeutic Recreation
CPR certification
Must possess and maintain valid Saskatchewan Driver's license and be insurable.
Registered or eligible for registration with the Canadian Therapeutic Recreation Association
Experience
One year experience working in settings with youth.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and establish effective working relationships with colleagues, education personnel and other community stakeholders
Develop treatment plans reflecting collaboration and communication with patient, family and team.
Develop, coordinate and implement appropriate recreation programming for a variety of age and diagnostic groups, matching development level, interests and abilities.
