Addictions Worker
POSITION SUMMARY
The Sturgeon Lake Health Centre is seeking a highly motivated Addiction Workers to provide addiction counseling services to individuals and families which include; prevention, intervention, treatment, referral and aftercare.  The Addictions Worker will also provide educational services to the community and school on addiction awareness and provide regular reports on activities to the supervisor and Health Advisory Board.  
QUALIFICATIONS
    A diploma in the Addictions field and at least 3 years experience
    To be living a healthy lifestyle free of addictions for a minimum of period of 3 years.
    To have basic knowledge of case-working/counselling techniques.
    Experience working with Methamphetamine addictions.
    To have knowledge of First Nations communities and their socio-cultural systems of community health needs.
    To have knowledge of and willingness to actively support traditional healing practices.
    Fluency or comprehension of the Cree language would be an asset.
    Good verbal and written communication skills.
    Competent in computer skills.
    Must have a valid drivers license and reliable vehicle.
    Must abide by the Zero Tolerance for Drugs and Alcohol policy.
